Dick Clark once said, “Music is the soundtrack of your life.” When some things happen to me, I always think to myself that there should be an accompanying soundtrack for that moment in time. Music isn’t solely for entertainment purposes. It is a universal language that evokes a variety of emotions. Indeed, there is a song for every occasion, mood, scenario, place or event.
Working with music is still a source of debate among many people. Over the years, numerous researches have been carried out on this subject matter. In 2019, a survey of 2,000 Britons showed that half of them listen to music while they work- with two out of five believing that it helps them get more done. I certainly belong to the group of people who believe that music helps them get more done because working without music is simply punishment to me. My work requires 100% undiluted attention as it involves a lot of reading and writing. For me to work effectively, music is required.

Honestly speaking, it took me years to figure out the type of music that works best for me while working. Believe me when I say there is music that aids concentration and improves productivity. Think classical music, jazz, ambient sounds, nature sounds and instrumental rock. Music without lyrics. You know I always let you guys in on the good stuff. So, in the spirit of sharing, I present to you;

I promise, your work mood won’t remain the same after listening to the songs on this playlist. I’m able to work for hours, concentrate better and be more productive while listening to these songs. To be honest, I enjoy this playlist better with speakers when I’m alone. Nevertheless, headphones also get the job done.
Do you prefer working with or without music? If no, I’d love to know why. If yes, I’d like to know your favorite work song and the effect it has on your work.
I hope you enjoy this playlist. Please remember to always wear a face mask, wash your hands and use a sanitizer. Wishing you a productive week ahead.
I can relate to this, music has always been my companion. I remember back in school days when i went to the library with my headphone solving physics & maths, the attendant walked up to my desk and told me to remove the headphone… Lol.
Classical music, Jazz, Soft rock and country music help me to relax and concentrate better.
That was one reason I enjoyed reading in my room 90% of the time back in uni. Country music is also an amazing genre. Thanks for your comment, Henry.
