Remember when we were little and by this time, harmattan was in the air and the sound of fireworks aka knockouts went off in our neighborhoods? Christmas lights, the line up of activities at school, Christmas carol, going shopping with our parents or siblings; Christmas was the best! For me, I particularly looked forward to the music. The sound of Bonny M’s ‘Christmas Party’ album was one of the highlights of the season. With these memories, I’ve been led to make a Christmas playlist to share with you.

Music will always be one of the best things in this world and I’m grateful for its existence. I know the festive mood isn’t upon most of us yet but I hope that with this playlist, your spirits are lifted. There are 29 songs and 1 album in this playlist and some of them have the same title but sang by different artistes. I want you to enjoy their different voices, sounds and performances. Let’s get right into it;

• Tony OneWeek- Onwa December; This is a classic Nigerian Christmas song.
• Daystar Choir– 12 Days of Christmas; I bet you won’t realize when you spring to your feet and start grooving to this amazing Christmas carol compilation.
• Bonny M– Christmas Party; The entire album is a HIT!
• UniZik Choir– Ave Maria; These guys are good. PERIOD.
• Do you Hear What I Hear?- Whitney Houston; The voice of an angel. God rest her soul
• Jackson 5- Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town; Hearing Michael Jackson’s baby voice will always be a pleasure.
• Stevie Wonder- What Christmas Means To Me; I like the lyrics of this song.
• R. Kelly- Christmas I’ll Be Steppin’; This song will have you moving.
• Chris Brown- This Christmas; Breezy with the voice! I love the music video.
• Mariah Carey- All I Want for Christmas is You; I think this is one of the most popular Christmas songs ever.
• Michael Buble- It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas; I can’t help but hear Frank Sinatra when I listen to this fine man sing. Such a soothing voice.
• Daystar Choir- Ding Dong; Just get up and start dancing.
• Band Aid- Do they Know It’s Christmas?; This song will lift your spirits. It’s all about spreading love.
• Dolly Parton- Little Drummer Boy; She did justice to this song.
• Michael Buble- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas; FYI, you’ll repeat this song.
• Darlene Love- All Alone on Christmas; This was one of the soundtracks for Home Alone 2. Which reminds me, did you read my Christmas movies recommendation post? If you didn’t, click here.
• Jason Derulo & Jordin Sparks- Baby it’s Cold Outside; They really sound good together.
• Ariana Grande- Santa Tell Me; One of my faves.
• Leona Lewis- One More Sleep; She has such an amazing voice.
• Michael Buble- Holly Jolly Christmas; At this point, I recommend all his Christmas songs. Bless.

• Pentatonix- Mary, Did You Know; The acapella masters. This song will melt your heart.
• Christina Aguilera- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas; Her voice gives me goosebumps in a good way.
• Backstreet Boys- Christmas Time; They came through on this one.
• Mary J. Blige- My Favorite Things; She looked divine in the video!
• Seal- This Christmas; Our Nigerian brother delivered as usual.
• Frank Sinatra- The First Noel; All I can say is- God dey create.
• Toni Braxton- It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year; The ever young and beautiful singer did justice to this song.
• Frank Sinatra- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas; After listening to his version, go back and listen to Michael Buble’s. Striking voices.
• Frank Sinatra- O Little Town of Bethlehem; Heads up! The next and last song is also by him. The man’s voice is heavenly. God rest his soul.
• Frank Sinatra- Hark! The Herald Angels Sing; Now, put this playlist on repeat or shuffle and share with your loved ones.
