This is not a regular list of wardrobe essentials that you’re supposed to acquire. I needed to state that before we proceed so you can have an open mind.

Personally speaking, my early 20s were a struggle. In retrospect, they weren’t all that bad as I learned a great deal about myself and life in general. I figured out my style, my faith, my strengths and weaknesses, career path, love language etc. I also paid more attention to my health and lifestyle. The type of food and drinks I consume and my personal hygiene.
This happens to be my last year as a 20 something year old and I have come up with a list of 10 essentials that should see you through your 20s into your 30s. Let’s get started shall we?
1.) Your flaws- Own them! Big forehead, stretch marks, bow or k-legs etc. Because let’s face it, nobody is perfect! I believe that there is no standard for beauty. We’re all unique and beautiful in our own ways.

2.) White shirt- Be it a crisp white collar shirt, a T-shirt or body suit, owning a white shirt is a must. White can literally be paired with any bottom you have in your wardrobe and the color itself screams class. Grown woman vibes!
3.) Lingerie- Proper fitting lingerie is an investment in yourself because your choice of underwear can make or break your entire outfit. You don’t want your pant line or bra strap making unwelcome appearances. Knowing your bra size is also key.

4.) Comfortable heels- Pumps, stilettos, kitten heels, block heels…whatever does it for you, please try to own at least one pair of heels. They make you look classy and ladylike.
5.) Your intuition- Sisters, this one will save you a lot of heartache but some of us are still stubborn regardless. Learn to listen to your guts. If it feels wrong/off, then there’s a 70-90% chance that it is. Your guts are essential.

6.) LBD- Little black dresses are a lifesaver. They’re easy to style which makes them versatile and they have this slimming effect. Having one or 2 is essential as they sometimes free you from the “I don’t have anything to wear” syndrome.
7.) A Pension Account- I know what some of you are thinking, ” Isn’t this for those working in corporate organizations?” The answer is no. You can open a bank account without an ATM card and access to mobile banking. Deposit a certain amount of money into it every month and take it as your pension. You’re paying your future (old) self.

8.) Blazers- They have the ability to transform any outfit from drab to fab! You can have them in different colors but one or two can do the trick.

9.) Structured Bag- For your own sanity, invest in a good handbag. It doesn’t have to be so expensive but make sure it’s something that can carry your everyday essentials while making you look organized at the same time.

10.) EVERYWOMAN- I grew up seeing this book with my mum. On several occasions, I would “borrow” it and flip through the pages looking at pictures. If you know, you know. On a serious note, this book is like the holy grail of gynecology. Everything you need to know about the female body is in here. It’s sold everywhere so it shouldn’t be difficult to find.
That’s it! Do you feel I missed something out or you want to make an addition to the list? You know this is a learning space so feel free to share with me in the comment section below.
Hope you’re staying safe and healthy? Remember to wear your face masks and wash your hands. We’re getting through this.
At first I thought it was going to be about fame, money and all that but with this I think I’m in check for the next face of my life…. Thanks Baby 😘😘😘
